This year, the 4 member group made their US TV debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, performing the hit song “Ddu-du Ddu-du”.
Despite being in a TV studio, there were no changes to the powerful choreography and they impressed everyone with their smooth moves, together with on-point vocals and raps.
They have also performed on The Late Late Show with James Corden and even Good Morning America after that.
After being named on the line-up for the music festival Coachella on both dates this year, BlackPink became the first female Kpop group to play at the music festival.
Other international artists such as Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, Tame Impala, Solange, Janelle Monae, Khalid, H.E.R and Billie Eilish were also announced.
Their world tour: “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR IN YOUR AREA” is scheduled to finish next year in Japan and is officially considered to be the highest-grossing tour by a Kpop girl group of all time, after stopping in Asia, North America, Europe and Australia.
BlackPink In The Charts
Their song debut “Boombayah” made the group the fastest-growing musical act, at the time, to hit No. 1 on Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart, and their success continued with additional releases in the following years after.
In 2018, Square Up EP debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 40, while their hit single “Ddu-du Ddu-du” peaked at No. 55 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The group also smashed a collaboration with Dua Lipa on the track “Kiss and Makeup,” reaching a new audience with a bilingual song that currently has more than 200 million streams on Spotify.
The track entered the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, making the Kpop act the only Korean female group with multiple entries on the chart.
